Job Description & Requirements

We are currently looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates Instructor to join our growing team in Oakville.

This is an excellent opportunity for an instructor who enjoys working with expectant and new parents, believes in safe, functional movement, and wants to become part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Our studio is conveniently located at Bronte & Dundas in Oakville, offers free onsite parking, and provides a warm, welcoming environment where instructors have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients.

About the Role
You will be responsible for teaching:

  • One Prenatal Pilates class each week – day and time of each class to be created based on your availability.
  • One Postnatal Pilates class each week
  • Additional teaching opportunities may become available as our class schedule expands

Classes are intentionally kept small to provide a personalized experience where clients receive individual attention, guidance, and encouragement throughout their pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
Working alongside our team of prenatal educators, doulas, lactation consultants, sleep consultants, and newborn specialists, you will play an important role in helping families improve their strength, confidence, and overall wellbeing.

Responsibilities
As our Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates Instructor, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, safe, and effective Pilates classes for pregnant and postpartum clients.
  • Adapt exercises for all stages of pregnancy and postpartum recovery, including clients returning to exercise after birth.
  • Provide appropriate modifications for varying fitness levels, comfort levels, and physical abilities.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere where every participant feels comfortable and encouraged.
  • Educate clients on proper movement, posture, breathing, and core awareness.
  • Build positive relationships with clients and help foster a strong sense of community within each class.
  • Arrive prepared and on time with well-planned class programming.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional studio environment.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and The New Mummy Company team.

Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Certification as a Pilates Instructor.
  • Specialized training in Prenatal and/or Postnatal Pilates.
  • Experience teaching group fitness classes to pregnant and postpartum clients.
  • A strong understanding of pregnancy, pelvic floor health, diastasis recti, core rehabilitation, and postpartum recovery considerations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A warm, positive, and professional teaching style.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (current).
  • Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain prior to starting).

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Is passionate about supporting expectant and new parents.
  • Loves creating an encouraging, welcoming environment.
  • Enjoys building lasting relationships with clients.
  • Is dependable, organized, and professional.
  • Works well independently while also collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Shares our commitment to providing exceptional care and education to growing families.

Why Join The New Mummy Company?
When you join our team, you’ll become part of one of Canada’s most established pregnancy and postpartum support organizations.
We offer:

  • Competitive per-class compensation.
  • Flexible Scheduling to suit your schedule.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • A beautiful Oakville studio located at Bronte & Dundas.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Opportunities to grow your client base and expand your teaching schedule as our programs continue to grow.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of expectant and new families every week.
