This family of is expecting their second baby in August. They are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Night Nurse ( preferably with Registered Nurse (RN) credentials to join their family during the early postpartum period. The ideal candidate is a confident, evidence-based who excels at balancing expert guidance with respect for parental autonomy and their family’s specific preferences.
Core Qualifications & Expertise
Prefer a Registered Nurse (RN) credentials with strong clinical knowledge in postpartum maternal care and newborn care.
Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based newborn care and postpartum maternal support, including proactive assessment in the first weeks postpartum.
Solid experience supporting breastfeeding, combination feeding, pumping, and bottle feeding in a non-judgmental, flexible, and practical manner.
Thorough knowledge of safe sleep practices (including experience with the Snoo), newborn red-flag monitoring, and when to escalate care to medical professionals.
Proven ability to support maternal physical recovery (nutrition, rest, healing) while simultaneously providing excellent newborn care.

The key responsibility of this position is to care for our newborn overnight so that the parents can get much-needed, uninterrupted sleep. This is a dedicated night shift role focused on expert newborn care and supporting postpartum recovery.
Core Duties Include:
-All aspects of newborn care: feeding (breastfeeding support, bottle feeding, formula preparation if needed), burping, diapering, swaddling, and settling baby back to sleep
-Breast pump setup, cleaning, and sterilizing
-Breastmilk storage, handling, and freezing
-Keeping the nursery clean and organized
-Restocking supplies (diapers, wipes, etc.)
-Detailed documentation of feedings, sleep, diapers, and any notable events
Additional Duties:
-Baby laundry (onesies, swaddles, burp cloths, sleep sacks, etc.) – washer and dryer are located on the same floor as the nursery for quiet overnight use
-Light assistance with our 3-year-old only if she wakes during the night (rare, but appreciated) or needs to be put to bed while mom is feeding baby
-Preparing simple snacks or warm drinks for yourself or for Mom if she is awake pumping or feeding
Important Notes:
They are not looking for a housekeeper or personal assistant. The following tasks are not part of this role:
-Adult or toddler laundry
-Deep cleaning
-Pet care (They have a large friendly Labrador)
-Cooking or meal preparation for the family
-Errands or household management
A C-section is scheduled for August 21 and after Mums last one, she only stayed one night in hospital.
They are open to having more than one RN cover the care in the first 2 months if they work together. They would prefer an RN but are open to other newborn care specialists who work within an evidence-based frame work and are experienced and otherwise meet our requirements.
