Job Description & Requirements

These first-time parents are seeking support both day and night for the triplets which they hope will not be born until 35 weeks. They are expecting them to be born via c-section at 35 weeks on October 21st. It’s very likely that they will spend some time at the NICU once they are born.  

They are looking for a kind, patient, reliable, and experienced nanny to help care for their newborn triplets. They would prefer previous experience caring for premature newborns and/or multiples (twins or triplets).

Experience with newborn feeding, bottle preparation, burping, diaper changes, bathing, soothing, and establishing feeding and sleeping routines is important. Knowledge of safe sleep practices and premature infant care is highly preferred.

You should be comfortable working alongside the parents and helping with baby-related tasks such as washing and sterilizing bottles, preparing formula, baby laundry, and keeping the babies’ areas clean and organized.

They are looking for someone who is gentle, attentive, hygienic, trustworthy, and comfortable caring for three babies.

Their home is strictly non-smoking and alcohol-free, and they would like someone who does not smoke.

Night Nanny: Their main priority is for the nanny to take full responsibility for the triplets’ overnight care so that the parents can rest. This includes following each baby’s feeding schedule, preparing and giving bottles, burping, diaper changes, soothing and settling them back to sleep, and safely storing breast milk/formula.

They would also like bottles and feeding equipment washed and sterilized, supplies prepared and restocked for the following day, and a clear record kept of each baby’s feeds, diapers and sleep.

Baby laundry can be done overnight only if it can be done quietly without disturbing the household. All of the duties and responsibilities would be time permitting so please ensure that you discuss the expectations of the family at interview. 

As the babies may be premature, they would especially value someone experienced with premature newborns and comfortable carefully following any feeding or care instructions provided by their medical team.

Newborn Nanny – DAYS: Light housekeeping related to the babies, including washing and sterilizing bottles and feeding equipment, preparing formula, baby laundry, changing bassinets/crib sheets, and keeping the babies’ feeding, sleeping and changing areas clean and organized.

Light household assistance such as loading/unloading the dishwasher and tidying common areas when time permits.

Assistance with the triplets during doctor appointments and occasional outings.

Simple meal/snack preparation for the mother when needed.

They don’t have any pets in the home. Driveway parking is available. The maternal grandmother will be staying in the home.
