The New Mummy Co is delighted to offer expert postnatal Mom and Baby classes in our beautiful studio in North West Oakville. Our postnatal fitness classes are the perfect solution to gently guide your body gently but effectively after the birth of your baby. This fun class will allow you to forge an even deeper emotional bond with your baby. One hour long, the benefits of this fun dance class can be felt after the very first class as your cheeks will hurt from smiling.

Join us each Monday morning at 10am for a fun class for both you and baby! Mum and baby dance class starts Monday September 9th and will run each Monday unless it’s a Statutory Holiday. So we won’t have a class on Monday October 14th.

It is always best to check with your doctor before starting a new training routine.

Finding your tribe!

Once you get the go ahead from your Dr or Midwife to engage in regular exercise after the birth of your baby, we are here waiting for you to join us! Come meet other new moms and babies in this fun and engaging class. Watch your baby as you dance in front of our row of mirrors and enjoy this class together with lots of fun music. All you need is a carrier or a sling to hold baby in and some comfortable clothes for you!

Rejuvenation For Mummy

Want to feel fit again? Our Mommy & Baby dance classes are designed to get your new mommy body back in shape by teaching memory co-ordination and stretching for both mum and baby. This will boost your overall energy levels, help you sleep better and relieve some of that new baby stress.

Our Mom and baby dance classes are a great mix of toning and strength exercises developing core strength, stability, strengthening of the back, abdomen and pelvis, as well as relieving tension in areas such as the neck, shoulders and back.

This class is perfect for Moms who are looking to get back into exercising or for those interested in more shaping and toning, rather than cardio.

FAQ

  • Who should attend this class??
  • Can I just "Drop In" to a class?

    We do not offer a drop-in option for our classes as we need to manage the numbers for each class. We ask that you register for each class at least 24 hours in advance even if you are booking a free trial class. We have to meet the minimum numbers for a class and we also have to manage the number of numbers so that we can accommodate everyone comfortably. We keep our class numbers small so that there is enough space for each participant to be comfortable.

    Without registering we can cannot know to contact you if there is a cancellation due to weather or illness.

  • Can I bring my baby to the classes?

    Yes, absolutely! Our classes are designed for the benefit of mothers and their babies equally. The name of the class tells you that baby is welcome to come to this class. Babies are welcome to all of our postnatal fitness classes! We know its not always easy to get a babysitter.

  • Do I need any dance experience to join Mom & Baby Dance Class?

    No, you don’t need any dance experience to join our classes. Our classes are designed for all fitness levels, so you’ll be able to participate and enjoy the classes. Everyone coming to class is either pregnant or postpartum so everyone is taking it slow and steady to get started in their fitness journey.

  • Are the classes suitable for new mothers?

    Yes, all our classes are suitable for new mothers. Our skilled facilitators are trained to work with mothers at all stages of motherhood and are mothers themselves, so you’ll be in good hands no matter how new you are to motherhood or exercise! We know that you will need to take this at your pace and we respect and encourage that!

  • I will be away until…Can I still join?

    Yes! We offer individual classes or you can purchase a 6 class pass and you have 90 days in which to use the pass. You use the code to book the dates that work for you so if you are travelling or away then you can book any dates that suit you.

  • My child is 11/12 months. Should I still join the Mom and Baby Dance class?

    In cases where you are unsure if the class is suited to attend due to the age of your baby, we recommend you register for a free session and try out the class in order to decide if its a good fit for you and your baby.

  • Can fathers/other family members/ caregivers participate?

    Yes. For the sake of continuity, we recommended that the same parent attends consistently but we also recognize that each family has different needs and parents can alternate.

  • What if I am really not a good dancer and not very co-ordinated?

    Don’t worry this is first and foremost about having fun, listening to the music and helping your baby to enjoy the movement. We are not here to judge your two left feet! Plus there is no exam to test your dancing skills at the end of the season! We want you to come and enjoy the class no matter what! We promise you can wiggle your hips, shake your legs or wave your arms in whatever way the beat moves you! We are going to have fun no matter what and so will your baby!
